Last updated 2026-07-09. This page covers the three ways this site touches your data: what the calculator does with what you type, what the contact form stores, and what advertising and analytics cookies pick up as you browse.

The calculator itself

Your vehicle type, scope selection, shop type, quantity, and ZIP code are read by JavaScript running in your own browser and used to compute a price range on the spot. None of those values are sent to a server or logged anywhere by us. If you close the tab, the inputs are gone; nothing about your specific search is retained.

What the contact form stores

Submitting the contact form sends your name, email address, and message to our form provider so a person on our side can reply. We keep that message only as long as needed to answer you or, if it points to a pricing error, until the correction is made and logged in our editorial notes.

Advertising and how it's funded

This site carries ads served through Google, and Google and its ad partners may set cookies to show ads based on sites you've visited before, including this one. You can turn off personalized ads for your account at adssettings.google.com, and see the wider list of participating vendors at optout.aboutads.info. Quote-request links on this site are also how it earns money: following one may pay this site a referral fee if you request a quote, which does not change the price you're quoted.

Analytics

Page visits are measured with Google Analytics so we know which guides get read and which parts of the calculator get used. This data is aggregated; we don't use it to identify individual visitors. A browser add-on from Google lets you opt out of Analytics tracking across sites that use it.

Cookie consent and your choices

Visitors in the EU, UK, and Switzerland see a cookie banner on first visit and can accept or decline non-essential cookies there; clearing your browser's cookies resets that choice. Depending on where you live, you may be able to ask what personal data we hold, have it corrected or deleted, or opt out of its sale or sharing. The contact page is how to reach us for any of that.

Who else sees this data

We don't sell the information you type into the contact form. It's shared only with the vendors that keep the site running, namely our form-delivery provider, our analytics provider, and our ad network, and only for that purpose.

Children

This site is written for adult drivers and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone that age.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top will move and, for anything substantial, we'll note it near the top of this page.
